SSARC Community Interest Company operates the site www.ssarc.co.uk. SSARC understands the importance of keeping your personal data secure and to be used only for lawful and legitimate purposes. For example, when you enrol in counselling or our workshops we would need to obtain personal data as part of our agreement.

Our Service contains links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children have provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
 

Disclosure of Data

SSARC will only disclose your personal data in exceptional circumstances such as:

  • You disclose that you have committed or know about a serious criminal act of terrorism

  • You disclose that you are going to harm either yourself or another person

  • On receipt of an order of a court to disclose your notes, the agency must comply. We will attempt to inform you beforehand if this is to happen.

  • To comply with Safeguarding Legislation (i.e. where you disclose information regarding the safety of a child or adult at risk). (In the situations above we as an organisation may have to inform a relevant support agency (e.g.: your GP; social services or the local PSNI)

Your Choices

Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security but will take ever measure to do so.

Requesting Data

You have the right to request any personal data we have about you. We keep written and or digital records of your contact details, counselling/therapy sessions as well as attendance at workshops. These are maintained in a confidential and secure manner by your counsellor/workshop facilitator in a locked filing cabinet and or on a secure cloud-based server. In keeping with data protection legislation, you can ask for any personal data we hold as well as to read your counselling records at any time. We would ask that if you wish to do this that you put your request in writing to the Director of SSARC Tanith McCulloch via email at info@ssarc.co.uk or contact her on 07715128138 and she will respond to this within 14 days. Counselling file’s belong to SSARC and records are legally retained for a period of up to 5 years after your counselling is completed, after which time they are destroyed. You have the right to ask us to remove any personal data we have for you as well as to opt in or out of receiving communications from SSARC by emailing us at info@ssarc.co.uk We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
